The Neuroscience and Robotics Laboratory (NeuRo Lab) strives to build a bridge between neuroscience and engineering to understand the underlying principles of animal sensorimotor control. Our research objectives are concentrated on gaining a fundamental understanding of the role of the central nervous system (CNS) in sensing and movement towards applying that understanding to develop next-generation neuroprosthetic devices. The NeuRo Lab approaches animals as a control system and utilizes tools and techniques from control theory and system identification to discover how the CNS controls biological movement.
